The Alpha 88 is designed for poor to average surf conditions but still comes alive when the waves improve. Shaped by Gunther Rohn and built by Lucid Glassing, this small-wave board delivers speed, drive, and responsiveness — making it a reliable everyday performer.

A full nose provides lift and planing power without compromising performance, while thin chamfered rails ensure quick rail-to-rail transitions. The bottom contour features a moderate double concave into concave V, paired with flat entry and tail rockers for rapid acceleration and snappy turns. A wider nose with flatter entry boosts planing speed across soft sections, while the winged wide tail and pod create a natural pivot point for sharp arcs in beach breaks and short waves. The flat deck lowers the centre of gravity for added stability and drive, while contributing extra volume — best ordered about 1/8" thinner than your standard dims.
