By working in small batches, we preserve the surfer–shaper connection to ensure every board reflects uncompromising craftsmanship, distinguishing ourselves from mass production. Our vacuum-bag glassing process removes excess resin to reduce weight and presses the laminate under even pressure, sandwiching the carbon/fibreglass layers to create stronger, lighter, performance-driven boards.

Amos is the driving force behind Lucid Glassing, bringing vision, leadership, and a deep passion for surfboard building to the business. Known for his precision and high standards, he has built a reputation as one of the leading craftsmen in carbon surfboard construction in Australia.
Amos began shaping and glassing boards in his teens on the NSW North Coast and has since amassed over 15 years of hands-on experience across every part of the board-building process. His time experimenting with foils and alternative materials led him to carbon, where he recognised the potential to create lighter, stronger, more responsive boards.
Amos continues to refine his craft and guide his team with a focus on innovation, performance, and lasting quality. His leadership ensures that every board leaving the factory reflects both technical expertise and a genuine dedication to the craft. His expertise and commitment have led to Lucid Glassing becoming the only licensed Dark Arts surfboard factory in Australia.
Amos is also the founder of Amos Shapes, his own line of carbon foilboards built at Lucid, which pioneers progressive designs, innovative shapes, and premium builds.
