The Iconic | Performance Shortboard

The Iconic model is based on the boards that shaper Greg Webber from Webber Surfboards has made for 4 iconic surfers being Andy, Trent, Taj and Herring. When designing a board for any surfer, you can look at the overall form, and then make all the adjustments that you like, but if you first get a feeling for their approach to the wave then this needs to be the overview or base upon which you do your physical designing in your head.

To get this model right Greg started with the common element that each of the surfers share, and it was to do with how they generate speed.

"From there on I guess I did do a bit of a Frankenstein and put a little bit of this from Andy’s board that he won Bells on, and then a little bit of that from Herring’s board that he won the Coke contest on etc etc. The end result is an all-rounder with a broad sweet spot that makes it flow and connect from turn to turn, but with those little crazy bits from the radical aspects of each of those phenomenally talented surfers." - Greg Webber, Webber Surfboards
