Modern Retro Twin Fin

The Rocket is a modern take on the late 70s twin fin, shaped by Scotty James and built with carbon fibre vacuum-bag construction. Loose, fast, and easy to ride, it’s designed for waves in the 2–5 ft range with a curvier face, performing well in both beach breaks and draining points.

A flattish deck provides volume for paddle power, tapering into bevelled rails for performance. Fluted flyers drop the rail line for quicker engagement and projection, while a beak nose ties the rails together. The outline finishes with a deep swallow tail for added bite and release. Underneath, a generous entry rocker flows into a low-to-medium tail rocker, funnelling water through a double-barrel concave with twin channels set in a V. Sharp edges behind the fins work in unison with the flyers to maintain grip on the face. Designed primarily as a twin, it can also be run with a small trailer for extra hold.
